The TOY SQUARES represent the variety of programs KIDS offers as well
as the variety of kids they help. From fashion to food to disaster
relief KIDS is there for kids and their families.
The ELEPHANT represents strong family ties. They are providers and
protectors.
Another reason the ELEPHANT was chosen is to realize the old cliché,
"It is hard to ignore the 800 lb. 'elephant' in the room." Meaning
problems don't usually disappear by themselves.

Kids In Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.) is a global charity of
leading retailers, manufacturers, and licensors of children's and youth
products, in partnership with major foundations, committed to helping
improve the lives of children and their families who are ill, living in
poverty, or are the victims of natural disasters.
"Promise!? Cross Your Heart...?"
In the world of a child, the Promise is sacrosanct: One's word given is
meant to be kept. In every story told to a child, the hero makes a
promise and sees it through: Slay a dragon, rescue a princess, make a
quest and return with the grail.
In real life, so sadly often, the Promise becomes a Story; and promises
made to children surviving tragedy and natural disaster dissolve into
fiction ... with the real, resulting tragedy being the growing
expectation of disappointment in each child's heart.
K.I.D.S. makes promises that are kept. The time, money, resources and
commitment made to children through us retain 100 percent integrity:
providing books, clothing, educational games and materials, and toys;
and nurturing human contact and the necessities for a renewed,
optimistic and happier outlook and life.
